A song that did not exist before
You tell me about a person and an occasion. I turn that into a song: lyrics and music written for it, played on the piano and sung by me. What you get at the end is a recording that exists only once.
This is for you if: A milestone birthday, a wedding, a farewell or an anniversary is coming up and you want a gift that is not sitting on a shelf. No musical background needed on your side: telling me about it is enough.
How your song comes about
- You tell me: Who it is about, what connects you, which story should be in there. In writing or in a conversation, whichever comes easier to you
- I write: Lyrics and melody grow out of that. You get to read the lyrics before I go into the studio
- I record: Piano and voice, more depending on the scope. All of it played, none of it from a template
- You listen and say what you think: One round of revisions is included. Whatever feels wrong, we change
The three scopes
- Piano and voice, up to 2 minutes: The song in its clearest form. Quiet, direct, close. Right for most occasions
- Full arrangement, up to 3 minutes: With bass, drums and further instruments. Sounds like a released record
- With strings, band and video clip: The full arrangement plus strings and a simple video clip to play at the celebration
Honestly
A song does not appear at the push of a button. Allow 3 to 4 weeks from your story to the finished recording. If it has to be quicker, say so early and we will find a way.
And one thing more: I will not write a song that makes fun of someone at their expense. A gift should land well, not sting.
What exactly you receive
- Your song as WAV and MP3, in studio quality, to download. Not a streaming link that expires at some point
- The lyrics as a PDF, so you can read along or sing along
- On request, the version without vocals, so you can sing it yourselves
- With the largest option, a video clip as well, ready to play at the celebration
After you order
- You get a confirmation straight away. It tells you what happens next and where to send anything else that comes to mind later
- Within two working days I come back to you with questions. Usually two or three, and they make the song noticeably more personal
- You get to read the lyrics before I go into the studio
- After recording you hear the finished song and say what still needs doing. One round is included
I write and play everything myself, and I only take on as many songs as I can do properly. If your occasion has a fixed date, tell me when you order: then I can say straight away whether it works, instead of keeping you waiting.
Frequently asked questions about the personal song
What happens if I do not like the lyrics?
You read the lyrics before I go into the studio. Nothing gets recorded until they are right. After that, one round of revisions on the finished song is included. Whatever feels wrong, we change; that is not a favour, it is part of the price.
I am not good at putting things into words. Will what I write be enough?
Just start writing, no form needed. Names, quirks, a shared joke, a phrase the person always says. Those small things are what make a song personal, not elegant wording. And if writing really is not your thing, a voice message will do; you get the link for it after ordering.
May I play the song at the party or upload it?
Playing it at the party, giving it away, sharing it within the family: of course, that is what it is for. For a release on Spotify or similar, talk to me first and we will put it in writing. Commercial use is not possible without an agreement.
How long does it take, and will you make my date?
Allow three to four weeks from your story to the finished recording. With the express option it is seven days. Tell me the date of the occasion when you order and I will tell you straight away whether it works, instead of keeping you waiting.
Do you sing it yourself, or is it an artificial voice?
I sing and play it myself. No generated voice, no template. That is why it takes longer than with the services that produce a song in minutes, and that is why it sounds different.
Can I also get the song without vocals?
Yes, as an add-on for €50. You get the same recording without my voice and can sing it yourselves, which at a celebration is often the better moment.
