Frequently Asked Questions about Song Analysis
Will you also be editing my song?
No. The analysis will show you what needs to be done, but I won't touch your file. Mixing, editing, vocal tuning, and mastering are separate services and can be added if needed.
How long will it take to get feedback?
Within 2 to 5 working days, by email and in writing.
What exactly am I listening to?
I check presence and intelligibility of the vocals, the balance between voice, instrumental, bass and drums, frequency distribution, dynamics and loudness, spatiality, stereo width and mono compatibility as well as arrangement and transitions.
Will I only receive a grade or will I receive concrete steps?
Concrete steps. You'll receive a to-do list, ordered by impact: what will improve your song the most is at the top. No blanket assessment and no automated evaluation; I listen to it myself.
Can I send a reference song?
Yes. Send me a track that you're using as a sound inspiration, and I'll compare your song to it.
Is it worth doing this before mixing or mastering?
Yes, that's the usual case. You find out beforehand what the real problem is, and then you invest your money specifically in the step that will make a difference.
