Description
Sheet Music Transcription
Your recording becomes a piece of sheet music
You have a recording but no sheet music for it: your own song, a piano piece, an instrumental piece or vocals. I listen to your recording closely and write it out by hand as sheet music, either as a lean leadsheet or as a complete two-handed piano arrangement.
A good fit if: You cannot notate yourself, or not well enough, but need the sheet music for bandmates, for lessons, or for registering with GEMA or a publisher.
Two tiers to choose from
- Leadsheet, 179,00 €: Melodie, Akkordsymbole und Text unter der Melodie, pro Song
- Vollständiges Klavierarrangement, 259,00 €: zweihändig notiert, alle Stimmen einzeln herausgehört, pro Song
Choose your tier on the right in the purchase options. The total price updates automatically.
What you get
- A cleanly typeset PDF sheet music file to print and share
- With the leadsheet: melody, chord symbols and lyrics, compact on one or a few pages
- With the piano arrangement: both hands notated individually, every part of the recording transcribed by ear
- Usable for bandmates, lessons, recitals or registering with GEMA or a publisher
- A follow-up question from me if a spot in the recording is ambiguous
How it works
- Choose your tier and link your recording: You enter the link to your audio recording (cloud link, clearly audible, no access request needed).
- Personal transcription by ear: I listen to your recording several times and write out the melody, chords, or all parts, by hand.
- Music engraving: The sheet music is typeset cleanly and legibly.
- Delivery: Your PDF sheet music arrives within 5 to 7 business days by email.
Important note: This service is pure sheet music transcription based on your existing recording, not me performing anything myself and not feedback on the sound. Would you rather have me play piano on your song instead? That is the separate service Individual piano accompaniment. Dir geht es um inhaltliches Feedback zu Mix und Klang statt um Notenschrift? Das ist die Professional Song Analysis.
Frequently asked questions about the Sheet Music Transcription
Which instruments or vocals can you transcribe by ear?
Basically anything: your own song, a piano piece, any instrument or vocals. If you are unsure whether your recording is suitable, just ask beforehand.
What is the difference between a leadsheet and a complete piano arrangement?
The leadsheet contains melody, chord symbols and lyrics, compact and quick to read. The complete piano arrangement notates both hands individually and transcribes every part of the recording by ear, so it is considerably more extensive and involved.
How do I send my recording?
As a link to a cloud storage service (for example Google Drive or Dropbox), without me having to request access beforehand. You enter the link directly in the purchase options.
How good does the recording quality need to be?
It should be clearly audible, without strong background noise. A phone video or a simple voice memo is usually enough, as long as all parts and instruments are recognisable.
Can I use the sheet music to register with GEMA or a publisher?
Yes, the finished sheet music is suitable for that. Please note that the accuracy of the registration itself remains your responsibility, or that of your rights administration.
