Keep working instead of starting over
You have a finished song but no project to go with it: the hard drive died, the software is a different one now, or someone else produced it back then. I rebuild it into a project you can work in. Not just audio tracks side by side, but named tracks, a set tempo, MIDI for the parts that can sensibly be captured as notes, and an order you can find your way around in.
A good fit if: It is your own song, you want to keep working on it or remix it, and you no longer have the original project.
What gets reconstructed, and what does not
A reconstruction is no magic trick: tracks can be separated out of a finished mix and pitches can be read, but the original files cannot be brought back. What you get is a project that behaves like one you built yourself: tempo and bar grid are right, the tracks are named and grouped, the transitions sit in the right places. Where it is worth it, MIDI comes along too, for bass, chords or a melody, so you can change notes and swap instruments.

How it works
- Send the song: You send the finished mix, ideally as WAV. If you still have single tracks, send those too: every original track makes the result better.
- Stock-taking: I listen through the song and tell you what can sensibly be reconstructed and what cannot. That comes before the work, not after.
- Separation and build: I separate the tracks, set tempo and grid, name, group and place the markers.
- Deriving MIDI: For the suitable parts I read out the notes and correct them by hand, so they really fit the song.
- Delivery: You receive the project and all files within 10 working days.
Important note: This service works on your existing song and makes it editable. It does not rebuild it: if you want a better version of your song, the AI song rebuild is what you mean, which plays everything again. If you only need the audio tracks and no project, the cheaper stem separationis enough. And if the song should sound better rather than become editable, mixing and mastering is the right way. A reconstruction delivers material to work with, not a finished new mix.
Frequently asked questions about reconstruction
How accurate does the project get?
Tempo, bar grid and structure are reliable. The separated tracks are good but never as clean as original tracks, because they are calculated out of the mix. MIDI is dependable where notes are clearly recognisable, for instance bass and chords; in dense passages with many instruments it is an approximation.
Do I get MIDI for every track?
No, and that is deliberate. MIDI is created for the parts where it helps you: bass, chords, melody, single figures. For drums I can supply a grid of the hits on request, not every nuance.
Can I swap individual instruments?
That is exactly what the MIDI is for. You drag another instrument onto the track and the notes stay. With audio tracks that does not work, those are recordings.
I still have a few original tracks. Does that help?
A great deal. Every real track does not need separating and stays at full quality. Send everything you have, including incomplete folders.
Do I need to own Ableton Live?
For the project itself, yes. You also receive all individual files as WAV and MIDI, so you can keep working in any other software, just without the finished session.
Does this work with someone else’s song?
No. This service is meant for your own recordings. With third-party material the rights are missing, and I do not do that.
